Free Daily Journal - Mood, Gratitude & Highlights

Daily journaling with mood tracking, gratitude prompts and highlights. Build a streak and track patterns.

What Is Daily Journal?

A daily journal provides a structured space for writing about your day — what happened, how you felt, what you accomplished and what you want to focus on tomorrow. Unlike social media (where you share a curated version for others), a journal is private reflection where you process your thoughts honestly.

Journaling has well-documented benefits for mental health, productivity and self-awareness. Studies show that regular journaling reduces stress, improves immune function and enhances emotional processing. Even five minutes of daily writing creates a meaningful record of your life and a tool for personal growth.

Entries are always stored locally in your browser, free or Premium. Premium removes the 7-entry history limit, adds an Insights view with a mood chart across your recent entries and a weekly reflection summarising the last 7 days, and lets you export your full journal to a text file.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Open the journal and today's entry is ready to write.
  2. Use the prompts if you are not sure what to write about.
  3. Write freely — grammar and structure do not matter.
  4. Save your entry — it is stored locally on your device.
  5. Review past entries to reflect on patterns and progress.
  6. Premium: open the Insights tab for a mood chart and a weekly reflection, or export your full journal as a text file.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Write at the same time every day to build the habit — morning or evening both work well.
  • Do not censor yourself — the journal is private, so write honestly.
  • If you are stuck, start with "Today I noticed..." or "I'm grateful for...".
  • Review old entries periodically — patterns emerge that you cannot see in the moment.

Common Use Cases

  • Daily reflection and emotional processing.
  • Tracking personal growth, goals and achievements.
  • Reducing stress through regular expressive writing.
  • Building self-awareness by examining thoughts and patterns.
