Free Darts Scorer - 301, 501, 701 with Voice & Checkouts

Tap-to-score darts scoring app for 301, 501 and 701. Spoken scores after every turn, live checkout suggestions and multi-player, best-of-legs match tracking.

What Is Darts Scorer?

A darts scorer keeps track of each player's remaining score through a leg of 301, 501 or 701, working out what they need to hit next and whether they can finish. Standard "X01" darts is played straight-in and double-out — you start at your target score and must reduce it to exactly zero, with the very last dart landing on a double (including the outer bullseye) rather than a single or treble.

This tool replaces pen-and-paper scoring with a tap-to-enter pad: pick the multiplier (single, double or treble), tap the number the dart landed on, and your remaining score updates instantly. It speaks the result after every turn, tells the next player what they need, and — whenever your remaining score is checkout-able — shows a suggested dart-by-dart combination that lands correctly on a finishing double.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Choose a starting score of 301, 501 or 701, and set how many legs are needed to win the match (1 for a single leg, higher for a full match).
  2. Add each player by name — there's no limit on the free tier up to 4 players, or up to 8 with Premium.
  3. Tap Start Game, then score each dart: select Single, Double or Treble, then tap the number (or use the dedicated Bull, Bullseye or Miss buttons).
  4. After three darts the turn passes automatically — or tap "End turn early" if a player finishes or you want to hand over sooner.
  5. When a player's remaining score can be checked out, the suggested finishing combination appears above the number pad, and the tool speaks it aloud.
  6. The scorer announces bust turns, 180s and match/leg wins automatically if voice is switched on.

Tips & Best Practices

  • A "bust" happens if a turn would take a player below zero, leave exactly 1, or reach zero without the final dart being a double or bullseye — the tool detects all three automatically and reverts the player to their score at the start of the turn.
  • Checkout suggestions deliberately save doubles for the very last dart, matching how players actually finish — earlier darts favour trebles for maximum scoring.
  • 170 (T20, T20, Bullseye) is the highest checkout possible with three darts — anything above that can't be finished in one visit.
  • Use the Undo button if you tap the wrong dart — it steps back through the whole match history, not just the current turn.

Common Use Cases

  • Keeping score for a casual 501 game at home without a chalkboard or app switching.
  • Running a best-of-legs darts match at a pub night or house party with automatic leg and match tracking.
  • Helping newer players learn checkout combinations by seeing the suggested finish every time they're on a shot at a double.
  • Practising solo scoring and checkout recognition for 301, 501 or 701 finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I score a dart?

Choose Single, Double or Treble, then tap the number the dart landed on (or Bull/Bullseye/Miss). The tool tracks all three darts in your turn automatically.

What is a checkout suggestion?

When your remaining score can be finished within your remaining darts, the tool suggests a standard dart-by-dart combination that ends on a double or the bullseye, exactly as required by double-out rules.

Can I play a full match, not just one leg?

Yes — set "legs to win" above 1 in game setup and the tool tracks legs won per player until someone reaches that target, crowning a match winner.

Does it work for more than two players?

Yes, add as many named players as you like (up to the plan limit) and the tool rotates turns between them automatically.
