A pet age calculator converts your pet's age into human-equivalent years. The old "multiply by 7" rule for dogs is inaccurate because dogs mature much faster in their first two years — a one-year-old dog is developmentally closer to a 15-year-old human, not a 7-year-old. The rate of ageing also varies significantly by breed and size — small dogs tend to live longer than large breeds.
